Understanding What You Can and Cannot Modify Before and After Your NFT Collection Is Released
It's important to understand what you can and cannot modify when making changes to your NFT Collection. Here's a quick guide to help you navigate the process.
If The Status of Your NFT Collection is "Draft" or "Scheduled" for Release
When your NFT Collection is in draft or scheduled for release, you can make changes to the following aspects of your collection through Single:
- Collection metadata (title, description, creator, and external URL)
- Release date/time
- Total supply/settings
- Gated content
- Transfer successful message
- Bundles
If The Status of Your NFT Collection is "Released"
Once your NFT Collection is released, the following aspects become uneditable:
- Collection metadata (title, description, creator, and external URL)
- Release date/time
- Total supply/settings
However, you can still make changes to the following aspects through Single:
- Gated content
- Transfer successful message
- Bundles
Restrictions and Consequences
It's important to note that while core fields cannot be edited in Single once your Collection is released, they are still editable in Shopify. We strongly advise against making any changes in Shopify at any point to avoid the following consequences:
Product Quantity
Changing the quantity of your NFT Product in Shopify can lead to permanent errors, such as inaccuracies in edition numbers, and can affect the rarity and legitimacy of your collection.
Price
Changing the price of your NFT Product in Shopify can disappoint buyers and negatively impact the value of your collection on the secondary market.
