Manage the authors associated with your posts without granting them account access. This guide walks you through the process step-by-step.
Step by step
1. Accessing Posts Settings
To begin managing authors:
- Sign into your Single account
- Navigate to Posts > Settings from the left sidebar
2. Understanding Author Permissions
Before adding authors, note:
- Post authors are not granted access to this account
- Author status is for attribution purposes only
- If you want to give someone the ability to create or edit posts, add them as a new user to your Single account with appropriate permissions.
3. Adding a New Author
To add a new author:
- Click "Add Author"
- Fill in the details:
- Upload an avatar image
- Enter the author's name
- Decide whether to set this author as the default
- Click "Save" to confirm
Note: When you set an author during post creation, their name and image will replace the default author set here, helping to personalize your content!
4. Editing Existing Authors
To modify an existing author's information:
- Find the author in the list
- Click "Edit" or the author's name
- Update the necessary fields (avatar, name)
- Save your changes
5. Removing an Author
If you need to remove an author:
- Locate the author in the list
- Click "Remove" or a similar option
- Confirm the deletion when prompted
Note: Removing an author doesn't delete posts attributed to them. The author's name will still appear on existing posts.
6. Using Authors in Posts
When creating or editing a post:
- Look for the "Author" field
- Select from your list of added authors
- The chosen author's name and avatar will appear in the post feed
